bike & Pedestrian Facilities

The City of Springfield received MoDOT LPA grant funding from the regional planning organization Ozark Transportation Organization. CFS is leading the design effort for 1.75 miles of new bike and pedestrian facilities on Grand Street from Kansas Expressway to Holland Ave. The new trail facilities include 8’-10’ trails, improved crossings, new mid-block crossings, pedestrian signal updates,  landscaping, and beautification. Phase 1 replaces the existing sidewalk with the new trail, new crossings, new mid-block crossings, and landscaping. Phase 2 utilizes a road diet to create space for the new trail and the new divider median, removing left turn movements on Grand. The new median creates more landscape areas closely resembling the Phase 1 section.
