KASOLD DRIVE

Lawrence, Kansas

The Kasold Drive Improvements Project involved renovating a mile-long section of a major road that runs through established residential and commercial areas. The project included the construction of a new median concrete street, recreational path, signals, a new stormwater collection and conveyance system, replacing a water transmission main, and relocating various existing utilities. To ensure community involvement, CFS worked with the City of Lawrence to conduct public meetings and surveys and create a project website.

The project involved removing existing pavement and designing and building new pavement, driveways, aprons, side streets, sidewalks that meet ADA standards, recreational paths, storm sewer, waterline services, traffic signals, earthwork, signage, pavement markings, retaining walls, sanitary manholes, conduit, street lighting, fences, landscaping, and traffic control.

CFS took on a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including managing the project, traffic modeling and analysis, complete street design, utility coordination, conducting an extensive public involvement program, geotechnical exploration, testing, surveying, staking, providing bidding assistance, and overseeing construction administration.
